Astrologers are getting worked up. One might say, once again. The upcoming solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, could be explosive, especially since a mix of holy war and red heifers (yes, you read that right) has already set things off in the Levantine region. I invite the reader to look at the somewhat more moderate (and long) presentation by astrologers Patrick Watson and Nick Dagan on the events currently unfolding in the area.

To paraphrase this lengthy video, the solar eclipse of October 2023 occurred at 21 degrees of Libra, close to a crucial point on the birth chart of Israel (its ascendant) AND that of Benjamin Netanyahu. When we say the ignorant are guided by their stars, this is an unfortunate example of the protagonists of this perpetual conflict. Add to this that the April 2024 eclipse is opposite to the one in October of the previous year. It's, therefore, not surprising that tensions are rising and people are being moved by the cosmic dance.

From a personal perspective, an astrologer can study the presence of this phenomenon in their client's birth chart. Since eclipses usually come in pairs during the year, coupled with lunar eclipses, it's considered that these conjunctions (solar eclipse) or oppositions (lunar eclipse) have a magnifying effect in the region of a birth chart theme.

If the region of the birth chart where these eclipses occur is empty, one can overlook it. Still, if these eclipses pass over a sensitive point in a natal chart, it's worth considering what might occur.

Like all astrological considerations, the portrait is subtle and complex. Only a conversation with a serious astrologer can help understand what has happened (eclipses are part of several cycles), what is happening, and what will happen. Let's not forget that the ocean is vast, but we are still at the helm of our little ship. "Help yourself, and heaven will help you," as can be read in Aesop (and Jean de La Fontaine, later).

So, what will happen in April 2024? That will depend on the story you are willing to tell. Buddhism teaches us that the mind constructs beautiful labyrinths in which we can get lost, and psychoanalysts have also discovered that prehistoric sediments have buried the origins of the strings that guide us.

Regardless of karmic laws, the universe doesn't seem to care what we say. But if there are ears somewhere to hear us, we may not yet possess the words to express our certainties.
