I tried in vain to find a good representation of Jupiter with the help of artificial creators. I lost myself in a maze of chivalry and burlesque, ending up in a world worthy of Cirque du Soleil.
The images are beautiful, keeping with the luxury this planet can represent. People born in its luminous shadow are naturally expansive, generous and lively.
Jupiter ennobles what he touches, giving him the power of the wind, inciting adventure and recklessness. He is said to rule Sagittarius in Western astrology, a fire coloured by philosophy and elegance. Although Neptune took Pisces from him, Jupiter was also associated with the ocean, with horizons to be explored.
It's not so much luck that Jupiter brings as the unwavering will to go further. When the planet crosses a region of a birth chart, we can expect the individual to learn, amplify and benefit from the area crossed unless Jupiter was afflicted at birth. In that case, the journey will likely be more chaotic or spasmodic. In astrology, nothing is black and white; this is even truer for Jupiter, master of colours and tapestries of possibility.
Curiously, it's also seen at the passage of death, conferring a peaceful or transcendent end, as if the soul suddenly set out to conquer unexplored spheres.
This planet is hard to pin down. It confers boldness but also exaggeration. The human race is probably descended from prehistoric Sagittarians, at once juvenile, lucky, optimistic and arrogant. We shouldn't be surprised that the adventure sometimes turns to buffoonery but also to philosophical, scientific and artistic flights of fancy.
Where Jupiter goes, life goes. I have Jupiter in Sagittarius, but also the Moon. I've long imagined, dreamed and still do.
The actual planet is a great storm bombarding its fantastic satellites with quasi-solar ions. Jupiter is a false star that seems to shout this out loud. It's the last bastion before Saturn, Chronos, comes to rationalize the universe. I have Saturn in Capricorn. I come from a generation with both the joy and the restraint of life.
I would have liked to have been able to dress in gilt and royally ride oceans of creation. My life is more modest, even if the god Jupiter feeds my neurons with dreams and theories that are impossible to realize but oh-so intoxicating.
Jupiter represents hope, our ability and luck to overcome obstacles. Even if I become a stunted monk one day, I'll listen to the roaring flame of his advice and laughter.
